What it means if you hardly sweat and sweat is sticky

Allergies, Complementary Healing, Popular, Skin

Does your sweat have the following:

  • You generally do not sweat a lot- even though you are quite active
  • When you do sweat, it is sticky and it is unpleasant
  • Sometimes, you suffer from rashes or a reaction akin to allergy reaction- it’s as if you are allergic to your own sweat

Usually at the gym, many people especially guys will be literally drenched from sweating while they work out at the gym. By nature, I do not sweat a lot even though on vigorous workouts- and if you suffer from the symptoms that I do above, do read on…

Fitness and sweating

From my research into Chinese healing, if you do not sweat or it is little compare to someone who is doing the same activities as you, then it’s a sign that there’s element imbalance in your body. Your body is too cooling- possibly due to the following:

  • High intake of raw food like vegetable salad (cooling in nature)
  • Drinking a lot of cold / refrigerated drinks
  • Taking showers at night or washing hair at night

Reason is because when your body is not ‘warm’ enough on the insides, it does not sweat a lot. On the contrary, a person who sweats very easily- literally sweating buckets may have too much of ‘heat’ in the body.

Anyway, I went and consulted a Chinese physician- and so happened I was coming into his shop from the afternoon’s hot sun. So I was sweating a little- he put his hands on my hands and commented that the type of sticky sweat- the type that sticks to the skin indicates the internal health is no good. He felt my pulse and the tips of my fingers on both hands. He said that sweating itself should make your body comfortable, and it should not be sticky that it sticks to your body, making you uncomfortable. If you suffer from similar symptoms, you may want to see a Chinese physician, acupuncturist, or a homeopathy practitioner near you.

The Chinese physician prescribed 2 sets of Chinese herbs for me to take. After taking, I noticed that just like what he had mentioned, my sweat become less sticky. It is the same physician who cured me of my fever from catching a chill– just taking his herbs, my chill was gone almost immediately.
