In a way, it is quite fortunate that I generally do not have much craving for oily or fried food. No doubt I enjoy eating them once a while, but each time I consume a meal consisting too much of fried and fatty food, I will feel nausea.
Therefore, I seldom crave for food like chicken rice, nasi lemak, pulut rice, chicken rendang, hokkien fried and cheesecake. Previously, my weight gain is attributed due to my high intake of sugar, predominantly coming from sweetened tea/coffee and little snacks.
A recent abdomen ultrasound scan revealed the reason why my body can’t seem to tolerate very oily food- a smaller than usual gallbladder. The role of the gallbladder is secrete bile used to emulsify or digest fat.
Ways to maintain a healthy gallbladder:
- Take lots of fibre (in oats, vegetables and fruits)
- Take less food high in fat
- Cleanse and remove gallbladder stones naturally
